do you know about color changing nail polish? 👇🏼
they are thermal polishes that have a temperature changing pigment mixed in. it reacts to your body temperature but also outside forces like the weather and water.
you get three states (imo)
🥶 cold state – you run cold, the water is cold, the weather is cold, or you’re in a cold building/room
😊 medium state – it’s both warm and cold – the colors stay in the in-between color change. i notice it when i’m very warm (just got done working out) but i’m in a very cold building (ac is on)
🥵 warm state – you run warm, the water is warm, the weather is warm, or you’re in a warm building/room
thermal changing polishes tend to have a short shelf life according to lots of people on reddit. i very recently got into thermals last year, and as of now my old thermals are still temperature changing – curious how they’ll be next year!
i store my polishes away from the sun and in a temperature controlled room. i’ve heard storing them in the bottom shelf of a refrigerator helps – but i’m not too sure on it 🤷🏻♀️
this is all based on regular nail polish/lacquer – these polishes don’t require a uv/led lamp to cure/dry; they dry by air or drying drops. i’m not certain on how gel thermal polishes work or solar changing polishes. there’s so much to explore in the polish world! 🤩
